Midterm Announcement/schedule changes

(From Office of Academic Affairs): Please be advised that there was a misprint on the original Academic Calendar for the Full Semester Evening (FSE) Classes in regards to the dates of Spring Break. The original calendar indicated the FSE Spring Break begins at 5pm on March 12, 2010 with classes resuming on March 22, 2010. Upon further review of the calendar, we have adjusted the dates to coincide with the Full Semester Day classes. In doing this, it also aligns the calendar to coincide with the break between Session 3 & Session 4 classes (which normally pertains to graduate students). Therefore, the Spring Break for FSE classes will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010. Classes will resume at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010. Please contact the Registrar’s Office at (716) 880-2365 for further information, questions, or concerns.

The above announcement changes original midterm plans. NEW Schedule for the next few weeks will be as follows:

Today 2/22/10: Chapter 3 + planning meetings and creating agenda. Also, get midterm info and begin working on it

3/1: Motivational issues in groups. Half class period dedicated to working on midterm.

3/8: CORRECT (new) date of spring break. NO CLASS. You are responsible for making sure group and individual work is done BEFORE 3/15. I will not accept late work or excuses.

3/15: Midterm Due. In Class: Presentations! All group and individual work is due at time. Again, projects are due 3/15. There is plenty of time to make sure group work is done before spring break, and you can use spring break to do any remaining individual work. Use class time wisely. This means, don’t pull the “oh let’s leave early and meet some other time.” I’ve seen groups do that and it affects the project a great deal. I’m giving you this time so you don’t have to have as many outside-of-class meetings. It still might be necessary for your group to meet outside of class, but that is at your discretion.
